My name is Cody Howell and I am 27 years old. I am the Director of Business Development at National Direct Emedia. I am a member of the First Baptist Church of Joshua. I am an active member of the Cleburne Jaycee’s, which organizes a major, well-known bike rally in North Texas that gives all of its proceeds back to our community. My family is very important to me. I am one of four children and have seven nieces and nephews, all of whom I love and enjoy very much. Most of all, I love and appreciate my parents very much for always being there for me no matter what. Three years ago, I went through a life-changing experience and learned that it’s not what you go through that defines you, but how you respond to these experiences that make you who you are.
The 2009 race season is my second full season as a triathlete. I originally got into the sport purely to be a healthier person. Also, my brother-in-law was very active in endurance sports and encouraged as well as inspired me to get into the sport. After my first race, the sport of triathlon quickly became a passion for me. I am a very competitive person and this sport fit my competitive nature perfectly. The thing I enjoy most about this sport is the fact that your race day performance lies solely on yourself. If you are self-motivated, dedicated, and driven for an overall purpose, you will see results. My goals for this season are to qualify for the Sprint World Championship and be part of Team USA, finish in the Top 100 of the SMW Region overall, and finish in the top 15 of my age group within our region. I enjoy being part of National Direct Emedia Racing and surrounding myself with like-minded, competitive team members.
